Acne

What's Going On?

Acne is like having unwanted guests on your skin. It happens when your hair follicles get clogged with oil and dead skin cells, leading to whiteheads, blackheads, or pimples. Most often, it appears on your face, forehead, chest, upper back, and shoulders.

Why?

It's mainly due to oil production, dead skin cells, clogged pores, and bacteria. Hormones, diet, stress, and certain medications can also contribute. It's not a result of what you eat or how clean your skin is, so no blaming yourself!

Are there different types?

Yes, acne comes in various forms. You might see tiny black or white spots (blackheads or whiteheads), red, tender bumps (papules), large, solid, painful lumps (nodules), or painful, pus-filled lumps (cystic lesions). Each type tells a different story about your skin.

What can I do?

Over-the-counter creams and gels, prescription drugs, or medical procedures like chemical peels or laser therapy. The right choice depends on your acne type and severity. A dermatologist can be your guide to clear skin.

What's next for me?

Remember, acne doesn't define you. It's a common skin issue that many people face. Keep up with your skincare routine, eat a balanced diet, and manage stress. Acne is just one part of your journey. You're more than your skin, and you're absolutely awesome!
